Customer Service Skills

Contains five courses including: Communicating Effectively with Customers, Controlling Conflict, Stress, and Time, Dealing with Incidents and Complaints, Interacting with Customers, and Polishing Your Skills for Excellent Customer Service.

Teamwork

Effective teams can accomplish anything they put their minds to. In this module you will learn how to be an effective team player, the importance of collaboration and how to inspire your colleagues to work towards a common goal.

Communication is one of the most valuable skills you can develop for workplace success. This module will discuss the importance of being an active listener, highlight valuable skills for effective oral communications and provide some tips to improve your written communication skills. Register

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) provides health and safety information on hazardous products intended for use, handling, or storage in Canadian workplaces. This online course is intended for any employee who uses, handles, or stores hazardous materials. Register

The Finance: Accounting Basics program contains four courses which include: Accounting for Stock Transactions, Key Accounting Concepts and Principles, Preparing Financial Statements and Closing Accounts, and Recording, Posting, and Balancing the Books. Register

The Communication: Developing Effective Negotiation Skills program contains 4 courses which include: Negotiating the Best Solution, Negotiating Well and Going for the Close, Skills for Project Analysts: Negotiation Skills, and The First Steps in Negotiating. Register

Once you’ve found a course you’re interested in, click “Get Started”, and then you’ll be asked to confirm if the training is for you, or your employees or your contractors. The courses are offered as part of the Industry Training Program led by Nova Scotia’s Association of Industry Sector Councils (AISC). The program is made possible by funding from the Province of Nova Scotia – through the various Industry Sector Councils – to assist employers, employees, and provincial job seekers in acquiring valuable skills.
